I was telling my best friend that I had settled on a beautiful, turquoise one-shoulder dress from Eloquii to wear to her beach wedding in Jamaica in a couple of weeks. And although she pretended to know who and what it was, her reaction was a bit more telling. Even as Eloquii be closing its Internet doors in weeks, the curvy community still seems ignorant of its existence. A shame since I think Eloquii was a go-to for plus size professional women everywhere. It provided a counterbalance to the fast fashion options, a la’ Forever 21 and H and M+, that are currently offered to plus size women. Marie Denee, the Curvy Fashionista, wrote an impassioned letter to the Limited Brands, about Eloquii’s upcoming closing, and perhaps acted as a mouthpiece to thousands of plus-size women who seek clothing options. Although it is sad that Eloquii will be shutting down very soon, why not take advantage of the 60%-80% markdowns they are offering.
For the last couple of months, I have been stocking up on jackets, blazers, pants(!), and other items that I will wear in the fall, or on those cool summer nights.
