I am very aware of how I look to my students. They assume I am much younger than I am, and although that may be because they sometimes spot an item or two in my wardrobe that may or may not have come from Forever 21, I am still their teacher!!!!!! Ha-ha. So, when it is time for me to meet the parents of my students, I go all out to perpetuate what I believe is the stereotypical school teacher look. Note the pleats, the bow-tie Blouse, tights, and cat-eye glasses. Granted, most days I like to dress in all black, edged out in clean lines and very little jewelry, with smoky, smudgy kohl liner rimming my eyes, I never, ever want my parents to see an image of me that matches what their kids inevitably say about me (mostly true).
