I was wasting some time on Instagram yesterday, and I noticed that there was someone who was again lamenting the influx of Swing Dresses that Asos Curve is carrying. Now I am all for a Swing dress, trapeze dress, whatever you want to call it. If it makes me look pregnant, I’m all for it. If it makes me appear to have taken vows to serve God a la the Pope, nun, etc., I want it more. I know that the whole “Curvy Girl” movement is about flaunting your curves, and for many, that translates into a body-con dress that show every curve, flattering or not. Now, I can rock a body-con dress with the best of them (I just really do not like them), but my affinity leans towards volume in an ensemble. But the versatility that Asos has is the thing that continues to draw me to them. You can dress like a beauty pageant contestant, a socialite, goth, punk, super-trendy, and Asos will satisfy all your clothing cravings. This has always been true for their main range clothing line, and finally, the diversity that has made them famous has been extended to the Curve line. Instead of complaining, we should be celebrating…
Leather Motorcylce Jacket: Asos Curve, Dress: Thrifted, Turtleneck: Express |
Boot: Duo
My first pair of boots from Duo, and I am impressed. For all you ladies with big calves (like me), Duo manufactures boots up to a 19.5 inch calf in certain sizes. Their boots are expensive to some, but as a grown woman, I know the benefit of spending more on a pair of boots that are leather with a leather sole, than $50 or $60 on a pair of boots that barely last the entire season. |

Fashion is all about individuality. Everyone should wear exactly what moves and inspires them. Whatever makes you feel good, shroud yourself in it. No matter what anyone says. With that being said, here are some of the Swing Dresses at Asos I am coveting right now.
