Tomorrow marks a first in American History… Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the first Black woman (and Asian) Vice-President of the United States. What a culmination of events following the Black Lives Matter protests that marred the whole of 2020! Statistics show once again that Black women are the true upholders of Democracy in this country, with 91% of Black women voting Joe Biden/Kamala Harris into office. And one would be remiss to overlook the contributions of Fair Fight founder, Stacey Abrams and Black Voters Matter Fund co-founder, LaTosha Brown to the ejection of Trump from the presidency.
But let’s vote for ALL Black women. The women that educate your children everyday. The Black women who are creating policy that determines the quality of life for you and me. The Black women who deliver the mail. The Black women who rep their sororities. The Black Congresswomen, who continue to change the narrative even as they remain the minority. Let’s vote for Black women, just because. Will Black women get your vote?
